Description

This is a technical and leadership role charged with establishing software quality standards and define an end to end process that is significantly stronger than what exists today.  Define the next generation methodologies and processes that will bring software quality at Travelport to a higher level.  This position will use both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, to delineate how quality is handled going forward.  Will also be responsible for socializing this new road map and holding everyone involved accountable – both on and offshore partners.  The position will be charged with bringing a vision and thought leadership to the role; a style that is comfortable with all levels of the organization, articulating a vision and approach that brings the right level of diligence to the table.  It will be critical that this position tightly manage on-and-offshore resources and establish credibility while redefining the quality process.  Much of the success of this position will be ride on the ability to effectively negotiate and hold vendors accountable while driving for a product output that is world class. This position will manage approximately 70-80 FTEs and 150 offshore contractors.

 

Qualifications:

• Fifteen plus years experience defining and enforcing a global, software quality process, end to end.  Proven track record using both Agile in addition to Waterfall and other traditional development methodologies, preferably coming from a leading edge organization where churning out top-quality software the first time is critical to the company’s success.


• Must have deep technical skills in the full suite of quality test products covering unit, functional and performance testing.


• Significant experience as a change agent – making tough decisions and driving for improvement at every level of their organization.  A proven ability to demonstrate influencing skills and a background of success dealing effectively, comfortably, and collaboratively with both technology and business employees is required. 


• Exceptional skills and track record regarding on and off-shore management, holding teams and individuals accountable, and a history of developing and recruiting top talent.
